If I designed a uniform … I’d start with boots

Catholic girls sometimes grow up with school uniforms and then find ways to continue the simplicity of functional clothing.

I own two pairs of my favorite boots and have worn them for a decade. They were expensive then too, but these Ferragamos boots brought me a new level of comfortable style.

Ten year-old Ferragamo boots
Gobbi-color Wolford tights and the boots
Love a shirt and a skirt

As you can see in the photo above, the skirt is longer than the length of my arms at my side so it is just the right length.

Anne Fontaine shirts

My favorite shirts are made by Anne Fontaine from Paris.

The detail is exquisite
Slouching blazer, big pockets
Roll up the jacket sleeves

What’s your favorite uniform?
