A St John Knit piece — whether a dress, top, or topper coat — is forgiving and flattering whether a woman is a size 4 or 12. I find I can have some workdays that flow and other days, let’s say Thursday, run off schedule and not necessarily due to me but external variables. Thursdays I break up my writing schedule to take a ballet class in the morning in Terni. I have missed the beginning of class the past two weeks so today I carefully artanged myself to be early. However, our instructor, who takes the train in from Rome, had a late train. I commend anyone who takes the train in Italy. I do not have the patience for the “variables” and patience required to ride the Italian rails. So a Thursday work/writing outfit for me involves ballet attire and a St John Knit topper. I don’t have a full-length mirror in my new home — yet — so hence the view — again — of legs.
